Choosing to Live Fully Before It's Too Late

Season #5

In this meaningful and thought-provoking episode of Beautiful Work Beautiful Life, cohosts Laurel Holland and Laurel Boivin invite you into an intimate conversation about what it truly means to choose life before it’s too late.

Inspired by the timeless reflections of Bronnie Ware’s The Top Five Regrets of the Dying, the Laurels explore the lessons that surface when we pause to consider how we’re really living. Together, they unpack powerful themes — the courage to be your authentic self, creating balance beyond work, expressing your true feelings, nurturing relationships, and allowing yourself to experience happiness and joy.

As the veil thins between worlds this late October, the conversation takes on a soulful tone — one that gently encourages reflection, closure, and new beginnings. With humor, compassion, and grounded wisdom, Laurel and Laurel remind us that inner work is life work… and it’s never too late to begin again.

Tune in to explore:

  • The five most common regrets of the dying — and how to live without them
  • Why authenticity, balance, and emotional expression are keys to fulfillment
  • Simple journaling prompts to help you reflect and realign
  • How to invite more happiness, creativity, and meaning into your everyday life

As you listen, you might just find the inspiration to take one small step toward the life you most want to live.

The Top Five Regrets of the Dying: A Life Transformed by the Dearly Departing, by Bronnie Ware

  1. I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
  2. I wish I hadn’t worked so hard.
  3. I wish I’d had the courage to express my feelings.
  4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.
  5. I wish that I had let myself be happier.

Journaling prompts are suggested to further your exploration.

  1. Do I have the friendships I wish I had? Am I devoting time to those friendships?
  2. What keeps me from being authentically me?
  3. In what areas of my life am I struggling to show up authentically?
  4. What are I doing that doesn’t feel like my true self, and who am I doing it for?
  5. What role am I playing, and who assigned me that role?
  6. How can I still work hard but not miss out on my lifetime—the memory making and the relationships?
  7. How can I honor the work that I’m doing so that I can provide for my family and contribute to the world in a way that feels good, without sacrificing other important things?
  8. What do I wish that I had said to the people in my life that I haven’t said yet?
  9. Do I feel like I would have any of these regrets if tomorrow I found out I only had another week to live?
  10. What am I doing now so that I don’t have regrets?
