How To Be Good in a World That Feels So Bad

Season #5

At a time when the world feels especially divisive and heavy, cohosts Laurel Boivin and Laurel Holland explore what it means to stay anchored in goodness.

This honest and hope-filled conversation touches on emotional overload, social media, and collective fear that can disconnect us from our natural goodness and the goodness around us.  They talk about how simple practices can help us return to center. From cultivating a daily devotional practice or creating a “supper club” for sharing good news, to setting energetic boundaries and choosing curiosity over judgment, this episode is a gentle reminder that goodness begins within us.

In this episode, How To Be Good in a World That Feels So Bad, you’ll hear reflections on:

  • The power of seasonal cycles and self-reflection
  • How to manage energy and information overload
  • The difference between collective goodness and group think
  • Compassion, curiosity, and conscious self-care as daily practices
  • How personal goodness contributes to healing the collective

Journaling prompts are suggested to further your exploration:

  1. What have I learned and how have I grown over the past year?
  2. What moments, experiences, or relationships am I ready to harvest and celebrate?
  3. Where have I witnessed goodness in myself, others, or the world recently?
  4. How can I intentionally bring more attention to what’s going right in my life?
  5. What am I consuming (online, in conversation, in thought) that impacts how I feel about the world?
  6. What is within my circle of influence, and what is beyond it?
  7. How do I want my energy to influence the people and spaces around me?
  8. What kind of energy or “good” do I want to contribute to the collective?
  9. Am I living in alignment with the goodness I want to see in the world?
  10. How can I practice curiosity instead of judgment today?
  11. What would compassion, toward myself or someone else, look like in this moment?
  12. What quality or value do I want to devote myself to cultivating (e.g., love, insight, peace, courage)?
  13. What practices help me clear emotional or energetic overload and return to center?
  14. How can I be “good” to myself and other people in my small sphere of influence today?
  15. What’s one simple act that will help me contribute more light or goodness to the world around me?
