Some of My Favorite Books

Incredible insights and healing have come to me through reading particular books at a certain time. Thoughts and expressions of deep understanding about life enlivened me, woke me up, expanded my consciousness and supported my quest in finding my best life. Books and how one responds to them are a deeply personal experience. It seems unpredictable what will speak to me, when a book I recommend will indeed help a client unequivocally or where I find just the right book at just the right time. Serendipity is often what comes to mind when I think about my reading journey.

This morning I felt inspired to post some of my favorite books as I read affirmations from Louise Hay’s, You Can Heal Your Life. Marveling at how I have been reading self-help books and spiritual texts for more than fifteen years without getting to this “bible” book, I am savoring reading one of the most powerful and insightful books written early in the “new age” movement. Since I trust the universe and it’s happenings, I imagine I am finally ready for her words.

Not in any order of appearance or preference in my life, here are some books that really woke me up! Most of the authors listed here have additional wonderful works. And this is in no way a complete list, just the ones that come to mind as I write this passage.
